Located south of Makena, beach access is granted through two lava rock walls. Makawao Forest makes for incredible hiking and biking, especially on the Kahakapao Loop Trail. The trail is located at the top of the Piiholo Road and is most easily accessed in a Jeep. The Makawao Forest is also located near the historical cowboy town of Makawao Town where travelers can enjoy shopping and dining after their hike.
