3 Must-Do Maui Road Trips

Are you planning a trip to Maui, but you want to experience the island in a unique way? A road trip makes sightseeing easy, and the views of our beautiful island cannot disappoint. If you want to take a drive across the island, Allsave Car Rental Maui has you covered. Here are our 3 must-do Maui road trips.

The Road to Hana

The magnificent road to Hana, a 52-mile drive around curves, cliffs, and breathtaking scenery was made to be enjoyed. Give yourself extra time to stop along the way so there’s ample opportunity to hike, view waterfalls, and coast along with the breeze in your hair. Make sure to fill up on gas at the beginning of the trip. Although there are places to stop along the way like a smoothie truck and restroom stops, gas stations are few and far between.

The Haleakala Highway

If you love visiting National Parks, take a drive down Haleakala Highway into the Haleakala National Park to see the magnificent volcano crater. Taking Highway 37, you’ll capture picturesque views of sugar cane and more before you take your car rental up the 10,000-foot dormant volcano. The views are spectacular, especially if you plan your drive to arrive at the summit before sunrise. Wear a coat and pants though. Along with the elevation comes some brisk temperatures.

The Kahekili Highway

If you would like a scenic way to get to Honolua Bay, take the Kahekili Highway across the northwest side of the island. Along the highway there are plenty of stops so you can fully experience the island like the Nakalele blowhole or the Olivine Pools. Turn around once you hit the town of Kahakuloa, and on your way back, stop to hike the trails. Consider an open-air rugged Jeep rental for your drive. The views are that much more stunning with the wind blowing through your hair, and the Jeep provides high clearance on some of the roads.

If you want to experience Maui in a new way, try a car rental, SUV rental, or more from Allsave Car Rental Maui. Contact us online, or call (808) 875-9200 to request a reservation. The Maui roads are waiting. It’s time for a drive.
