Book a Car Rental and Explore Pipiwai Trail

Both visitors and residents of Maui likely came to Hawaii for the beauty for which the islands are known. Beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and volcanoes are just a few sites to behold. One way to really explore the heart of Maui is to take a hike on the Pipiwai Trail. The Pipiwai Trail is located within the Haleakala National Park in southeast Maui. Not only is the hike great, but the drive to the trailhead in your car rental is also picturesque. Getting to the trailhead may take a little time depending on where you’re coming from on Maui, but the hike and the views are well worth it. Two highlights of the Pipiwai Trail include two waterfall views, including the 200-foot Makahiku Falls and the 400-foot Waimoku Falls. Both waterfalls make great photo ops. Another unique feature you can find on the Pipiwai Trail is a giant banyan tree, with twisted branches that seem to go on forever. If you look closely, you can see that other visitors have carved their names in the tree. Plan for about two hours minimum to complete the Pipiwai Trail. This four-mile hiking trail isn’t strenuous, but you will want to stop and see many of the views. We at Allsave Car Rental Maui recommend that you combine your trip to Pipiwai Trail and the Haleakala National Park, pack a picnic lunch, and make a day of it.
